The North Carolina Innovative Superintendent Dr. Eric Hall was in Robeson County Tuesday to talk with the district about plans for Southside- Ashpole Elementary.
The school was taken over by the state last November for an ‘F’ rating for the last three years.
Earlier this month, on January 9th, the Robeson County school board voted to move Southside- Ashpole Elementary into the state’s new innovative school district.
Parent Mikhaelle Bethea says she is on board with any changes to help her two children improve their math and reading test scores.
“It’ll give the students a better chance to learn,” said Bethea. “Do whatever possible, that’s needed for the kids.”
